Laura Laxen, MA

Laura received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, from Minnesota State University, Mankato

and her Master’s in Arts of Counseling from Adler Graduate School. She has experience

assisting individuals and couples across the lifespan. Laura’s therapeutic approach is centered

on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and validated in

their unique experiences. Laura focuses on a strength-based approach and believes each

person is the expert of their own experiences. Laura strives to cultivate a genuine and trusting

alliance, allowing clients to explore and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at

their own pace.

Laura uses various modalities including dialectical behavioral techniques, acceptance and

commitment, cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, and internal-family system techniques

to meet the needs of each client. Laura believes building a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance

is key for clients to openly express themselves and embark on their unique journey of self-

discovery and personal growth.
