Hi, I’m Amanda!
I received my bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in psychology and certificate in addiction counseling from Bemidji State University. I also received my master’s degree in social work from Grand Canyon University. I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC-T) in the state of Minnesota.
I have experience working in adult outpatient and adolescent inpatient facilities specializing in substance abuse and dependence, recovery, and relapse prevention. I also have experience working in a Level 4 setting school district, helping students with a range of intensive needs.
I believe everyone has a unique story that is made up of a compilation of moments and hardships. I believe that a positive, empathic, trusting and kind therapeutic relationship is a critical key between the client and counselor.
I also believe well-being goes beyond the therapy room in that an individual is made up of their mental, physical, and spiritual parts. My hope as a therapist is to walk alongside each unique client (and their families) to support growth in all walks of life.
I work with ages 3 and older in an individual therapy setting, complete chemical use assessments, and provide supervised visitation.
